About Me

Hi! My name is David Heinen, I am 18, and I'm majoring in Computer Science at Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta, GA. When I grow up I want to be either a programmer or an engineer, I'm not sure if I like hardware or software more yet. My first job would ideally be an internship or apprenticeship so I could learn the skills needed for the real world. The last job would be at a consulting firm, getting paid to go to companies and fix their difficult problems.

My hobbies include using a computer whenever possible, and failing that, using my Danger Hiptop (AKA T-Mobile Sidekick). I walk to classes listening to gigs and gigs of mp3s on my iPod while talking on AIM on my Hiptop, and I feel completely geeky and connected. I also enjoy the sport of wardriving. Apart from nerdy activities, I enjoy Bowling as much as possible, as well as pizza, and I still think digital watches are a pretty neat idea.

This web page's main purpose is to fufull the requirements of CS1002: Intro to Computing Disciplines. CS1002 is way over my head, and I need to get out, get out now. All kidding aside, the next paragraph is intended to answer the questions required of me in this assignment.

Information Technology focuses more on the networking aspect of software. Software Engineering focuses on the industrial application of software developed on a budget. Computer Science is the study of all aspects of software, development and application. They all study software, they just focus on specific parts or the entire thing.
